This is the first single from Drake’s highly anticipated Thank Me Later album dropping later this year. Prior to this, I thought his first single was gonna be extremely corny…I mean there was just too much pressure on the guy to breakthrough with a smash hit. I wouldn’t call the single corny, but it’s not mind-blowing. The hook is extremely catchy, so it’ll get lots of radio & club play…I’m sure his “D.R.” well claim it as the best single since “In My Lifetime”, but for me, he’s just spitting the same thing using different punchlines. The track was produced by Boi-1da; he did an A+ job. I’m no “Hip-Hop Head” but I’ll give it 3.5/5 stars in my iTunes Library. I still think he should have released “Forever” as his debut single. Best of luck to him, I’m sure he’s gonna deliver at the end of the day. Oh yea, and btw…that single cover…SUCKS!
